Brazilian dances as material for contemporary dance

The masterclass will provide practical experience in some different popular Brazilian dances like Capoeira Angola, Samba de Roda, Boi do Maranhao and Ijexá. As soon as the different elements have been learnt, participants will be encouraged to play with this new vocabulary through structured improvisations. The sensations and the individual interpretation of these cultural and aesthetical elements will be then merged into a choreography, which we will develop together over the workshop.

This workshop is addressed to people with some dance training in any form who are interested in Brazilian culture and dances. 

L'atelier offrira l'expérience pratique dans certaines différentes danses populaires brésiliennes comme la Capoeira Angola, Samba de Roda, Boi do Maranhao et Ijexá. Dès qu'ils ont connu les différents éléments, les participants seront encouragés à jouer avec ce nouveau vocabulaire à travers des improvisations structurées. Les sensations et l'interprétation individuelle de ces éléments culturels et esthétiques seront alors se fondent dans une chorégraphie, que nous développons ensemble sur l'atelier.

Cet atelier s'adresse aux personnes intéressées par la culture et les danses brésiliennes.
