Deepening Movement Experience through Yoga, Martial Arts and Theatre

Ann Moradian's work is strongly influenced by her explorations in yoga, the martial and energy arts, theatre, the visual arts, and by the questions of co-existence and human evolution. In this workshop, we will borrow from yoga, the martial arts, theatre and dance to deepen and extend our experience as performers and movement artists, in relation to our own movement, being and expression, in relation to one another, and in relation to our lives. We will work with breath and textural choice-making, alignment and intentional misalignment, individual and group improvisation. Ann's process of integrating yogic and martial principals into her dance and pedagogy stems from a personal need to continue to deepen her movement experience beyond the realm of form and product, into the realm of integrated experience, expression and existence – in other words, into the realm of the sacred. The conscious expression of our soul's being through the vehicle of our material existence – the body. The movement vocabulary is personal, rather than formally defined, and all levels of movers and performers are welcome.

For all levels of movers and performers.
